Care Instruction:

Light: Astilbes thrive in partial to full shade, making them perfect for shaded gardens or areas with dappled sunlight. Avoid planting them in direct, harsh sunlight, as this can scorch their delicate foliage.

Soil: Provide your Astilbes with rich, moist, well-draining soil that retains moisture but doesn't become waterlogged. Incorporate organic matter like compost into the soil before planting to improve its texture and fertility.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the hot summer months. Water deeply and regularly to ensure the soil remains evenly moist but not waterlogged. Mulching around the base of the plants can help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilization: Feed your Astilbes with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, as they can promote excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowering.

Division: Every three to four years, divide overcrowded clumps of Astilbes to rejuvenate the plants and maintain their vigor. Divide them in early spring or fall, replanting the divided sections in well-prepared soil.

Pruning: Remove spent flower stalks after blooming to tidy up the plants and encourage fresh growth. In late fall or early spring, cut back the foliage to the ground to promote new growth and maintain a neat appearance.

Pest and Disease Control: Astilbes are relatively pest and disease-resistant, but they can occasionally be affected by pests like aphids or powdery mildew. Monitor your plants regularly and treat any issues promptly with appropriate insecticides or fungicides if necessary.
